WHAT WILL YOU TITLE THIS TEACHING?????

Good Evening beloved brothers and sisters!!!
please let pray.....
We thank you Jesus. As we are here to study, dear lord pass through every words to teach, correct and impart. Thank you for a brand new month.
Today’s Bible class is going to be very interactive; I need an opinion from each and every one of you. Just speak out your mind, what you know and understand about this topic, just say it out.
Remember, “A close mouth is a close destiny.” You can discover something very valuable as you are speaking and contributing and someone may learn a very informative, educative and of course a spiritual
lesson from your excellent contribution.
Let me tell you, “You don’t know what you have until you learn to share!”

Gloria Okaiman is to teach us today but I’ve been checking my mail box and nothing came up. The same thing happens last week Tuesday for intercessory prayer, although I prayed for all our readers all over the world during my quiet time with God and our leaders too.
Please am pleading with you to act on what you are going to learn today. Lessons won’t do you any good unless they are acted upon.

A goal to achieve. Is there any goal in life that you want to achieve? How do we make a decision, as a Christian? Are we just pushed from behind by our background and instincts? Or pulled from in front by our desires and expectations?Or are we able to exercise a ‘renew mind’ and ‘test and approve what the will of God is’?

It’s a big challenge-but we can never even begin to do this without getting grips with the Bible (God’s Word).

Please let us open our bible to the book of 1Corinthians 1:12
Now this I say, every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Appolos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
.
Let me share this story with you…..
A man went to bank to withdraw money, on his way back, he decided to sit in his car to confirmed the money, there he discovered that there is an extra five thousand naira, so he quickly rush into the bank again and immediately the man step in his eyes met with the banker that mistakenly added extra money to him. She was looking so worried and confused.

The man walked to the woman and said “excuse me madam, I noticed that I have an extra five thousand naira from the money you gave me”

The woman with a sigh of relief put out her hand and collects the money and said “God bless you, thank you very much”

Then another customer that was on the queue asked the man that returned the money “which church do you attend?”

The man answered “my brother is not about church, is all about the fear of God and the character of this woman”

Now from that story, we all know what would have happen to that banker, if that God fearing man did not returned the money.

  • Some of us have allowed the name of churches to becloud our mind. You believe that is only your church that knows how to preach well.

And therefore if another person preaches nothing will ever make you believe and even if you manage to sit and listen though you may be looking at the preacher but your mind is somewhere else.

Your choir is best, so even if other choirs sing you must find one fault or the other.
Join the choir, you will not, but when someone from the choir solo a song, you will sit and start saying one thing or the other.  Finally you’ve join the choir, bring a song for practice, mission impossible, but someone finally brought a song, you will say is not sweet, is not spirit-filled.

Even in your very church, there is a particular minister that you enjoyed his message if another person step up to preach, you will be saying ”where does this man always takes his message from because he can’t even explain even a verse as John 3 verse 16.”

“Our church may be vibrant and our teachers may be excellent but we still need to develop our own understanding of what Christianity is all about.”

  • Part of the trouble with the Corinthian church was that they were still tie to their teachers’ apron-string.
This is exactly what some of us are doing now. They were even boasting, ‘my teacher is better than yours!’

Because of this, Paul had to tell them to grow up. Please my beloved brothers and sisters, if you have ever done these please grow up.

  • He call them ‘mere infants in Christ’, not yet ready for solid food (1cor. 3:1-2)
They lacked a solid grounding in faith. And so, when faced with the teachers who were saying different but complementary things, they thought they must be in radical disagreement with each other and started taking sides:
I follow paul! I follow Apollos! I follow Cephas! I follow Christ!

They needed to learn to discriminate and to have a mature understanding of the faith, in which the differences between these teachers were put into proper perspective.

You think you are okay and all that you are doing are right and pleasing in the sight of God?  Please you just have to grow up. Learn from the story of Amaziah the King.
2Chronicle 25:2 says “and he did that which was right in the sigh of the LORD but not with a perfect heart.

You believe that only your opinions are correct but others are nothing to write home about.
The kingdom of God is not in word but in power.1corthians 4:20
Help yourself by changing and help others. Stop discouraging people that are willing and have given themselves for Christ to use; they are so devoted in to winning souls for God’s kingdom. Learn how to walk in the power of God’s Word.

Revelation 12:12-15.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Did you read anything like the book of the name of churches?
What are you fighting for? Is Christ the hope of glory living in you?

REVELATION 2:23
And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.

2.My opinions about the post is that as individual s we should make ourselves relevant in whatever capacity we find ourselves, we should be willing to make thongs happen just as God would have loved us to, we should learn the appreciate the simplest efforts people employ and we should ask for God's grace to fulfil our purpose on earth
    3. Personal relationship with God
    4. Revelations 3:14-22

  4. If I'm to title this teaching, it would be "Set your affections on things Above". We should be mindful of the fact that we were created to serve our God and Maker in every situation. Thanks for these words of admonition Lucy. More Grace.....

    1. the Youth Vice president, thank you very much for this excellent contribution.
you see my dear, a lot of people have let the things of this world that will not even profit them in anything, to take away God's time in their lives.

but they forget that God is every where. psalm 139:11-12

we are not of this world. we are strangers and therefore it is very advisable if you want be a candidate of Heaven to "Set your affections on things Above".

thank you so much Alabekee Ola. *smiling*
